Research

My research focuses on megacity planning and urban development across the Global South, with particular depth in Indonesian cities, particularly Jakarta. I'm the editor of The Routledge Handbook of Planning Megacities in the Global South, which examines urbanization challenges across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. My work also extends to homelessness, housing policy, and health disparities in the U.S. My research has been supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
